    We have an exciting new opportunity for an individual to join a PET-CT team as the Unit Manager within the PET-CT Centre at Southend.

     

    The ideal candidate will have high levels of professionalism and integrity. They will possess excellent organisational skills and show self-confidence and personal energy.

    Proven knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management is required, preferably within healthcare, and experience of management within Nuclear Medicine/PET-CT is desirable yet not essential.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required and IT literacy is essential. The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the CQC. Awareness is legislation is essential including Radiation Regulations, CQC requirements and Health and Safety Legislation.

     

    Experience in problem solving, decision making, planning and organisation is necessary and the ability to deal with people issues is required.

     

    Flexibility to operate across multiple sites is required.

     

    The right individual will lead, manage develop and grow the PET-CT Unit and team such that they meet and exceed all internal and external targets and ensure the provision of excellent service and care to all customers.

     

    Experience:

    o          Proven knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management.

    o          Evidence of extra responsibilities

    o          Must be IT literate

    o          Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    o          Enhanced DBS clearance required

    o          Flexibility to operate across  multiple sites  if required

    o          Awareness of Radiation Regulations, CQC Requirements and Health and Safety Legislation

     

    Desirable:

     

    o          BSc/DCR in Diagnostic Radiography and/or Diploma in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent desirable but not essential

    o          Post Grad training in PET-CT an advantage

    The role will include operational management and leadership plus general radiography duties. Within a friendly small department you will have the opportunity to oversee and schedule an experienced team of Radiographers, Radiologist, Sonographer, clerical and other support staff to undertake a varied workload, covering consultant clinics, ward and theatre patients. There is a commitment to weekend working and some on call.
